Accepting what is…why is this so difficult? It’s a topic we’re exploring on the Happy, Not Satisfied podcast this week with our guest Roma Villavicencio.
Roma’s mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away when she was only 19. At 21, Roma was diagnosed with ovarian cancer while she was studying to pursue her dream of becoming a TV journalist. She overcame cancer, graduated from college and earned her first job on air despite these setbacks.
Roma has since grown to her current position as host of a network morning show in the 7th largest city in the country. Amidst every step, she has chosen to persevere in the face of what is, despite having feelings of fear, doubt, or sadness along the way. This is an episode not to miss if you are in need of a little lift to start your week.
What moved us most about our conversation and Roma’s life story is the mission and meaning behind her company, La Coronita Hats y Más, which she founded in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic:
Roma’s strong and positive spirit is an inspiring example of the power of choosing joy and gratitude in the face of life’s adversity, and how growth and success can be rooted in such different meanings depending on the chapters of our personal journeys.
